Day 01 : Delhi - Leh by Flight

Early this morning after a quick cup of tea/coffee you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Leh. This one-hour flight from theLeh Monastery, Leh Tour and Treking Packages Indian capital to Ladakh’s capital will be something that you might remember for the rest of your life. Assistance on arrival and transferred to your hotel. There will be no activity on your first day of arrival as it is recommend for tourists to relax and undergo minimal exertion to enable them to get acclimatized to rarefied oxygen level in this high-altitude region ensconced in the high Himalayan plateau.

Day 2 : Leh – Introductory tour 

Morning a guided tour through the ancient bazaar and alleys of Leh town, after that we return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch at leisure, followed with a visit to Sankar monastery and then continue our drive to visit the Shanti stupa to witness the Japanese peace pagoda. We then return to our hotel.

Day 3: Leh – Tour of Thiksey, Hemis, Chemdrey and Taktok monastery

Today after early tea/coffee, we are driven to Thiksey monastery located situated on a hill-lock, which also houses a stucco statue of Maitreya Buddha, upon arrival we witness the monks gathered in the assembly hall for the morning prayer ceremony, which begins before sunrise at 0600hrs, we hear the monks chant their prayers with the beats, after that we will have our packed breakfast, followed with a drive to visit Hemis monastery another 30 kilometers southwest of Thiksey; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. Hemis festival is considered amongst the biggest and most famous of the monastic festivals, and is dedicated to Padmasambhava. Every 12 years, the gompa's means a (monastery) greatest treasures, a huge Thangka, is ritually exhibited. After that, we drive towards the north, bifurcating the main highway to visit Chemdrey and Taktok monastery spectacularly on a hilltop. On our return, we visit Thiksey monastery located situated on a hill-lock, which also houses a stucco statue of Maitrya Buddha. We then continue to drive back to Leh.

Day 4: Depart Leh to Uleytokpo camp via Basgo palace, Likir monastery, Alchi and Rizong NunnaryBasgo Palace Ladakh, Ladakh Monasteries Tour Packages

After breakfast, we depart for Alchi, en route visit Basgo monastery, situated on hilltop along the Srinagar highway; we pass through Spituk monastery, which will be visited on our return. Basgo monastery is among the endangered sites of World monument fund, built of mud brick and rammed earth, during the 16th and 17th century A.D. The fortress has three temples, erected in celebration of Great Maitreya (The fifth Buddha). The largest of all statues is the 14-meter high gilded earthen statue of the Maitreya Buddha, surrounded by murals depicting scenes from his life and portraits of the patrons who underwrote the construction of the temple complex. After that, we continue our drive to visit Likir monastery followed with the drive to Alchi and visit the world’s famous monastery built in the 11th century. Alchi monastery is very different from the rest as it has a fusion of Tibetan and Kashmiri Art. 

We then drive to Uleytokpo Camp for Lunch, afternoon at leisure, late in the afternoon we are driven to visit Ridzong Nunnery; the only nunnery in Ladakh also known as Chomoling, after that we then drive uphill to visit Ridzong monastery beautifully situated in a gorge.

Day 5: Uleytokpo Camp to Mangyu Village A Days walk 

Today after breakfast, we are driven to Gera village till the bridge; we walk across the Indus River over a wooden bridge to begin our walk to Mangyu village situated deep in the mountain across the Indus from Uleytokpo. It’s a beautiful walk for two hours one-way. On reaching Mangyu village, we visit amongst the most ancient monasteries built by the same founder Rinchen Zangpo, who also built the Alchi monastery, very few tourist visits here, as till date there are no vehicular traffic road. After that you will also have an opportunity to visit the outskirt of the village to see them farming, as today also some parts of Ladakh still follow the primitive of agriculture. 

After that we break up for lunch, after lunch we gradually start walking back and then return to our tented camp

Day 6: Uleytokpo to Dah Hanu to Uleytokpo campUleytokpo Camp Ladakh, Ladakh Travel Packages
Today after early breakfast, we are driven to Dah Hanu (Aryan Village) as we a drive along the bank of Indus, we see some patches of green shelter the Dards. Dah is their best-preserved village. The Dard village lies lower, and the region has two harvest as we can see the tomato fields, a thousand varieties of flowers, apricot trees, walnut trees, grape vines climbing over poplar trees, green fields. The main attraction of the Aryans are their dress simple but enriched with strange peculiarity. All the men and women wear a flowerily headgear. The alkekengi (a wild strawberry) brings wealth and protection against demons; the others have more decorative purpose. Dards are always smiling, conscious of the wealth of their land and proud of their survival. 

After that we return to our camp.

Day 7: Uleytokpo to Lamayuru to Leh
After breakfast, we will drive on Srinagar-Leh highway and then continue to drive to Lamayuru. Upon arrival, we will visit the Lamayuru Monastery followed by a brief visit to Lamayuru village situated on a foot of the Monastery

Lamayuru Monastery, founded in 11th century perched on a spur high above the valley bottom just off the main road, it is one of the most spectacularly picturesque monastery in central Ladakh and is believed to be the oldest in central Ladakh and to have been the holy place of the Bon-chos the advent of Buddhism. We then return to Leh taking the same Srinagar-Leh highway to our Uleytokpo camp.

Day 8: Leh to Stok palace Stok Palace Ladakh, Ladakh Trekking Tour Packages

Today after breakfast, Stok village is also situated at the foot of Stok ranges; we will visit the Stok Palace, former residence of the Royal family of Ladakh. The Palace consists of formidable collection of the family’s heirlooms and relics are displayed, a poignant evocation of Ladakh’s vanished past as an independent kingdom.

We then return to Leh for Lunch

Day 9: Leh to Oracle Lady to Saboo village

After early breakfast, we drive to have an audience with the Oracle Lady, who is considered to have a healing power and speaks out the future. (Please note that this will be performed with suiting her dates and availability). We then drive to Saboo village to Saboo village, ten minutes drive from Oracle Lady situated on the old caravan route to Nubra Valley. On arriving Saboo village you will be traditionally welcomed by the family members to have lunch with them in traditional Kitchen after Lunch you will be taken on an introductory tour of Saboo village on foot.

After the tour we drive back to Leh, rest of the day at leisure or an optional stroll to the market.

Day 10: Leh – New Delhi by Flight

Today you will be woken up early in the morning, after a hot cup of tea/coffee you will be driven to the airport to connect your flight to New Delhi, this will be your last opportunity catch the spectacular view of the Himalayan ranges
